Based in Melbourne, Cat is a multi-instrumentalist who’s known in the Australian folk and Americana scene for her soulful drumming and rich history of collaboration with other artists including Vikki Thorn (The Waifs), Kutcha Edwards, and Mick Thomas (Weddings, Parties, Anything). In 2014 she released her debut solo album When We Were Young that shone a spotlight on her country folk meets indie-rock style. Produced by Craig Pilkington (Gurrumul, Archie Roach) the album received widespread critical acclaim and airplay in Australia and across the BBC network, being featured by the legendary Whispering Bob Harris on his BBC2 show. In 2016, Cat released Late At Night, which captured both the vitality and intimacy of her live shows. Recorded live to tape and co-produced with Jeff Lang, she ventured into new territory with reckless electric slide guitar playing, and a bold, unselfconscious vocal delivery. Her latest album Inner North was nominated for Best Folk/Roots album in The Age Music Victoria Awards and named Album of The Week by The Sydney Morning Herald.
Preceding her solo career Cat sang lead vocals and played drums in Alt Country band The Stillsons, with band mates Justin Bernasconi, Ben Franz (The Waifs) and Edmondo Ammendola (Augie March) who released three critically acclaimed albums from 2009-2013.
